- Cream 1 cupful sugar
- 2 tablespoonfuls unmelted lard
- 2 eggs
- 1½ teaspoonfuls grated nutmeg
- 1¾ cupfuls sweet milk
- 1 level teaspoonful baking-soda
- 2 level teaspoonfuls cream of tartar
