Tomato Sauce Recipe ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Karo, Blue Label
- 2 tablespoons sliced onion
- ½ clove of garlic
- ¼ teaspoon pickle spice
- 2 cups canned tomato
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- Few grains pepper
- 3 tablespoons Argo or Kingsfords Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Mazola
Instructions:
To prepare this Tomato Sauce Recipe, first combine the tomato, onion, garlic, Karo and seasonings and simmer twenty minutes. Rub through a sieve and thicken with the cornstarch creamed with the Mazola. Serve with any kind of white fish, meat or fish croquettes or with poached eggs.
Bordelaise Sauce Recipe
To Tomato Sauce, add one-third cup minced shallots, a minced clove of garlic, and a teaspoon of chopped parsley cooked gently till yellowed in one tablespoon Mazola. Add a little lemon juice and if convenient two tablespoons beef marrow. Serve with any kind of boiled meat or fish, meat or fish loaf or with sliced tenderloin of beef.
